Introduction
This Statement is adopted as the Privacy Policy Statement (the “Statement”) for YT Global Limited (“YT Global”). The purpose of this Statement is to establish the policies and practices of YT Global’s commitment to protect the privacy of personal data and to act in compliance with the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (the “Ordinance”) and implementation of the guidelines thereon issued by the Licensed Money Lenders Association. YT Global will do its part to comply with the Ordinance and the principles set out in this statement.
Purpose of Use of Personal Data
1. The Customer is required to provide YT Global with such information from time to time when opening and/or renewing a credit account, establishing and/or extending credit, and/or providing other financial services.
2. Failure to provide such information may result in YT Global being unable to open or renew credit accounts, establish or extend credit and related services, or providing other financial services.
3. It is also the case that personal data are collected from customers in the ordinary course of business of YT Global, for example, when customers communicate verbally or in writing with YT Global, by means of documentation or YT Global’s telephone recording system (as the case may be).
4. The purposes for which customers’ personal data may be used are as follows:
  1. the daily operation of loan accounts, credit facilities and other financial services provided to customers;
  2. conducting credit checks upon an application for credit and when regular or special reviews are conducted from time to time;
  3. creating and maintaining YT Global’s credit scoring models;
  4. assisting other money lenders and/or financial institutions to conduct credit checks and collect debts;
  5. ensuring ongoing credit worthiness of customers;
  6. designing financial services or related products for customers’ use;
  7. determining amounts owed to or by customers;
  8. collection of amounts outstanding from customers;
  9. meeting the requirements to make disclosure under the requirements of any law binding on YT Global or under and for the purposes of any guidelines issued by regulatory or other authorities with which YT Global is expected to comply with;
  10. enabling an actual or proposed assignee of YT Global, or participant or sub-participant of YT Global’s rights in respect of customers to evaluate the transaction intended to be the subject of the assignment, participation or sub-participation;
  11. marketing financial services or products of YT Global; and
  12. other purposes relating to each of the above.
The purposes listed in paragraphs (a) to (j) (inclusive) and any purposes related thereto are “obligatory” purposes, meaning that customers must permit YT Global to use their personal data for these purposes if they wish to use YT Global’s services. The purposes listed in paragraph (k) and any purposes related thereto are “voluntary” purposes, meaning that customers have a choice whether YT Global can use their data for these purposes.
Security of Personal Data
The policy of YT Global provides appropriate safeguards to ensure the security of personal data, the sensitivity of the data to be used and the damage caused by unauthorized access, so as to prevent unauthorized access, processing or other use of the data. In order to achieve a proper level of security, YT Global strictly restrict the access to data consistently by providing secure storage facilities and by implementing security measures on data storage equipment. YT Global will also take steps to ensure that those dealing with such information have good ethics, prudence and competence. The information will only be transmitted in a proper security manner.
Accuracy of Personal Data
The policy of YT Global is to ensure that all data collected and processed through YT Global is accurate. YT Global will implement appropriate procedures to regularly check and update all personal data to ensure that the relevant information is used for the purpose of being reasonable and accurate. If a statement of opinion is contained in the personal data held by YT Global, YT Global will take all reasonable and practical steps to ensure that any claims in support of the statement of opinion are correct.
Collection of Personal Data
1. In the course of collecting personal data, YT Global will provide the individua ls concerned with a “Personal Data Collection Statement” informing them of the purpose of collection, classes of persons to whom the data may be transferred, their rights to access and correct the data, and other relevant information.
2. In relation to the collection of personal data on-line, the following practices are adopted by YT Global:
  1. Online security
    YT Global will follow strict standards of security and confidentiality to protect any information provided to YT Global online. Encryption technology is employed for sensitive data transmission on the Internet to protect individuals’ privacy.
  2. Cookies
    Cookies are small pieces of data transmitted from a web server to a web browser. Cookie data is stored on a local hard drive such that the web server can later read back the cookie data from a web browser. This is useful for allowing a website to maintain information on a particular user.
    
    Cookies are designed to be read only by the website that provides them. Cookies cannot be used to obtain data from a user’s hard drive, get a user’s e-mail address or gather a user’s sensitive information.
    
    YT Global uses cookies only to identify users for a specific period of time, and does not store sensitive information about users in the cookies. When a user browses the YT Global website, all contacts will use the cookies to identify the user. When the user ends visiting the YT Global website, the cookies will also be invalid. If users attempt to disable the cookies of their web browsers, they may not be able to use the online and other financial services of YT Global.
  3. Online correction
    Personal data provided to YT Global through an online facility, once submitted, it may not be facilitated to be deleted, corrected or updated online. If deletion, correction and updates are not allowed online, users should approach relevant departments or branches of YT Global.
  4. Online retention
    Personal data collected online will be transferred to YT Global’s relevant departments or branches for processing. Personal data will not generally be retained in web server.
Hyperlink Policy
1. Although the website of YT Global contains hyperlinks or links to other websites/web addresses, there is no indication or hint that YT Global would certify, verify, explain, approve or recognize such hyperlinks, links, websites/web addresses or the owners’ identity or information.
2. YT Global expressly disclaim any liability for any content, supply, accuracy or omission of information provided by or contained in the hyperlinks, links, other websites/web addresses linked to the website of YT Global.
3. You are exposed to the risks arising from all the hyperlinks, links or other websites, web addresses or sources due to the use of hyperlinks.
Data Access Requests and Data Correction Requests
1. It is the policy of YT Global to comply with and process all data access requests (“DARs”) and data correction requests (“DCRs”) in accordance with the provisions of the Ordinance, and for all staff concerned to be familiar with the requirements for assisting individuals to make such requests.
2. YT Global may, subject to the Ordinance and the guidelines thereon issued by the Privacy Commissioner, impose a fee for complying with a DAR. If a person making a DAR requests for an additional copy of the personal data that YT Global has previously supplied pursuant to an earlier DAR, YT Global may charge a fee to cover the full administrative and other costs incurred in supplying that additional copy.
3. DARs and DCRs to YT Global may be addressed to YT Global’s Data Protection Officer (“DPO”) or other person as specifically advised.
Other Practices
The following are maintained by YT Global to ensure compliance with the Ordinance:
1. A Log Book as provided for in section 27 of the Ordinance;
2. Internal policies and guidelines on compliance with the Ordinance for observance by staff of YT Global.
Appointment of Data Protection Officer
1. The Data Protection Officer has been appointed by YT Global to co-ordinate and oversee compliance with the Ordinance and the personal data protection policies of YT Global.
